1-0 to democracy...not!
And this little incident serves to proof (if further proof were needed) that the mass media are not to be trusted.
Unfortunately, the more adolescent elements of the Stalinist left seem to take it upon themselves to 'police' every instance of an alleged Ezra Pound trip, even when those allegations prove unfounded. There's an element of witch-hunt to this incident: the 'faithful' attacking alleged 'heretics'. Whatever happened to political pluralism and mature debate, or am I just being naive?
Personally, I think we should listen to something Crass recorded on this broad theme a long, long time ago:
Nice. Now I get the title of Propagandhi's 'This is not a Crass song'
If we're living in a world where we need pig-shit-thick leftie thugs to protect us from ambiguous symbolism in art then if I like freedom of expression so much why don't I go live there?
By which I mean - we are not amused.

he'd be proud.
Or probably confused - as he, presumably, always was.
Political violence drags everything down to a chimp's eye level - it's the work of little-big men who present themselves as representing the 'one true faith', or - in chimp terms - one's own pack against the incursions of neighbouring packs.
Very much like the governing ethos of far-right skinheads, in fact, and the rhetoric they use against foreigners, ethnic minorities and anyone else they perceive as 'other' (when they're not putting the boot in).
This incident also reminds me of the actions of the 'Black Blok' element at anti-globalisation protests: a few hundred pounds' worth of collateral damage against the assets of some multinational high street chain (which is almost certainly covered by insurance), causing negative publicity for the movement as a whole and giving gung-ho police forces an excuse to beat the peaceful 'fluffies' to a pulp. Way to go, big bad revolutionaries!
I have a dream...
it involves me and Katie Melua living in a farmhouse in the Alps in a world WITHOUT prejudice!

Sounds like a truly noble dream!
Meantime, I have fantasy involving me, a well-tailored uniform and a water cannon...
You want to be a fireman? Or is it kinkier than is sounds?
Let's just say that, if my wish is fulfilled, I'll upload the pictures...BE AFRAID, BE VERY AFRAID!!!
